The time is getting short and the date is fast approaching, September 17th 2011is just around the corner and if you have not made your reservations yet, you just might miss this once in a lifetime, never to be repeated Grand Event. Come and celebrate with us at Elslinore California Drop Zone and reminisce with long lost skydiving friends the glorious days of skydiving from the dust pounding landings of the 60’s to the marvels of the sport today. You didn’t have to be a jumper to enjoy this gathering, all you Woffos were part of the scene and memories we enjoy and are welcome as well.
Click on the Home Page for the reservation form and details. See you there!
Text Box: The Website

Like promised in the winter Edition, on the back of the efforts by Bob Celaya and Rico Guererro to set up this website, we continue in our efforts to keep the website and El Mitote updated, interesting and informative. Some times we succeed, then again, some times we don’t. Maybe tomorrow we try harder.
If you have any ideas about what we can do to improve or include in the website, don’t be bashful about making any suggestions.
Text Box: Memorial Day Jump

On May 30th, Memorial Day this year, we went up to the Taft California drop zone to make our annual jump in memory of Pelon Guerrero who manifested at that big drop zone in the sky on April 15th four years ago. We also made that jump in memory of Charlie Pickett, Pelon’s brother, who in a tragic accident left us last November 5th.
As always, we had some great skydives, a great party that Pelon and Charlie would enjoy, full of carcajadas, stories about long ago gran pendejadas, mucha cervesa and delicious carne asada prepared by our own chef, Jarod Vasquez. We were joined in this gran paranda by Bob and Judy Celaya, the Rebel Skydivers from Phoenix Arizona, Richard Hernandez, Frank Venegas and Sweeny from the Old River Rats and many seedy looking old Vatos from Air Trash. It was a grand occasion celebrating the lives of Pelon and Charlie and I’m sure they had a great time too.

Text Box: Hasta Luego

That’s about all of the Mitote that I have for now, so I’ll say “Aye te watcho”.
Don’t forget about the anniversary party and remind everyone you know to be there.
Almost forgot. We have an e-mail address that you can use to keep in touch with the Latins.
